Trump agreed to help Europe with Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump at the G7 summit agreed with European leaders on assistance in the situation with Iran, and in return promised support for Ukraine.

This is reported by Politico, citing European diplomats who were present during the negotiations.

According to sources, the American leader was pressuring politicians from Europe to agree to help with demining the Strait of Hormuz before U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrives in Geneva to conclude an agreement with Tehran.

Trump told journalists that "not much help is likely to be needed" from Europe, however behind closed doors the politician asked for both verbal and material support on the issue of the deal with the Islamic Republic.

One of the diplomats noted that everyone in Europe is very much waiting for Trump to support Ukraine. This is exactly what he told his colleagues. In response, the leaders of the G7 countries stated that they are ready to help with Iran under a number of conditions. In particular, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the deployment of ships for demining in Hormuz must be requested and approved by the United States, as well as by Iran and Oman.
