The investigation materials regarding the owner of the Baku International Sea Trade Port Govsan Ruslan Eyubov, port chief Rashad Dashdamirov, chief of the port checkpoint of the Main Customs Department for Maritime Transport and Energy Resources Farid Usubov, and other persons have been transferred to the defense for review.

The defendants are charged under articles 206.4 (smuggling on a large scale committed by an organized group), 213-1.2.1, 213-1.2.2, 213-1.2.3 (storage for the purpose of sale of goods subject to excise stamp marking without such marking, committed repeatedly by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), and 308.2 (abuse of official powers resulting in grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. These acts are classified as especially serious crimes. It is noted that the criminal investigation was conducted by the Main Anti-Corruption Directorate under the Prosecutor General.
