Pezeshkian calls memorandum with US historic

President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian called the memorandum with the US historic.

"This is a historic document and a message from a strong Iran: peace will become real with mutual respect," Pezeshkian wrote on the social network X, publishing the text of the memorandum in English.

He noted that Iran remains invariably committed to peace throughout the world, progress, and regional cooperation.

Iran and the US remotely signed a memorandum on the night of June 18, which involves ending the military conflict that began on February 28. The memorandum also sets deadlines for when the US will lift the naval blockade, and Iran will restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, Iran undertakes not to acquire nuclear weapons, and the issue of the Iranian nuclear program should be resolved by a separate agreement. The parties will hold negotiations on this within 60 days. For Tehran, the outcome should be the lifting of anti-Iranian sanctions.
