Armenian authorities are not preparing new elections – Pashinyan refutes
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan refuted the idea that the country's authorities are supposedly preparing for new elections.
At a briefing on June 18, responding to a question about whether the ruling force's legislative initiatives in the form of an electoral threshold and tougher penalties for voter bribery mean preparation for new elections, Pashinyan stated "of course we are not going to."
According to him, the point is that before the elections, the public clearly showed dissatisfaction with the state of affairs on the listed issues. "But I was in principle against changes before the elections, I promised to take measures after the elections. This is being done as soon as possible so that people do not have questions about why nothing is being done," Pashinyan explained.
