Iran-US negotiations in Switzerland will be direct - media

Delegations from Iran and the US will hold the first round of direct negotiations in Switzerland on Friday, during which some technical issues will be discussed, including Iran's nuclear program.

This was reported by the Al Arabiya TV channel, citing sources.

According to their information, the parties plan to consider the "political aspects related to the nuclear program" of the Islamic Republic, "legal aspects" related to the problems of lifting anti-Iranian sanctions and unfreezing Iranian assets, as well as issues related to Lebanon and the activities of the Shiite movement Hezbollah. It is noted that the meetings may take place in Zurich.

According to the channel's sources, representatives of Qatar and Pakistan will take part in the negotiations, and representatives of Turkey and Saudi Arabia will also be present at some meetings.

Earlier, the Reuters news agency reported, citing the Swiss Foreign Ministry, that the US and Iran will hold preliminary negotiations in the Swiss town of Bürgenstock on June 19 on the implementation of the agreement reached by the parties.
