Russia sends protest to Armenia over desecration of Soviet memorial

Moscow sent Yerevan a note of protest in connection with the desecration of the memorial to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in Gyumri.

This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

"This blasphemous action is not just hooliganism, but a targeted attack on the historical memory common to our countries and an attempt to desecrate the Great Victory. Of course, we sent a note of protest to the Armenian side," the diplomat said.
